Благодаря встроенным ПК серий CX компания Beckhoff соединила две различные технологии управления процессами: с помощью ПК и модулей ввода-вывода. Теперь они легко монтируются на одной  DIN-рейке и могут быть установлены в шкафу управления или даже в простой клеммной коробке. Основное достоинство Embedded PC Beckhoff – модульная система может быть сконфигурирована так, чтобы точно соответствовать поставленной задаче: добавив или убрав как отдельные блоки, так и интерфейсы, в системе будут присутствовать только те компоненты, которые действительно требуются для управления техпроцессом. Стоит обратить внимание, что подобная сборка аппаратного управления нисколько не скажется на высокой производительности всей системы. Но такие действия позволяют уменьшить площадь установки и снизить затраты на приобретение и обслуживание.

Широкий модельный ряд Embedded PC (CX80xx, CX90xx, CX10xx, CX50xx, CX20xx) способен удовлетворить потребности любого клиента и охватить весь спектр технологий управления Beckhoff с точки зрения, как цены, так и производительности. Эта продукция предназначена для решения задач, требующих характеристик и вычислительной мощности промышленных ПК, но бюджет, которых невелик и не позволяет пойти на дорогостоящие траты. Серии CX включают несколько базовых модулей с разными процессорами для оптимальной адаптации к соответствующим задачам. Кроме различных ЦП они также имеют разные системные интерфейсы и блоки питания. Через связанные интерфейсы Embedded PC поддерживают терминалы EtherCAT в качестве системы ввода-вывода.
